A small Roman silver finger-ring. The oval tapered hoop has a finely-incised perimeter channel and convex shoulders. Its broad oval bezel is demarcated by a line of heavily worn ring-punched decoration. At the centre is a small ovoid metal appliqué setting, but wear and corrosion obscure any imagery once present on it.

Date: 2nd or 3rd century AD.

Dimensions: External 22 x 19 mm. Internal 17.5 x 15 mm. Setting 7 x 6.5 mm.

In age and precious metal content the object qualifies as Treasure under the terms of the 1996 Treasure Act.
