The wings of the brooch are semi-cylindrical with wing caps. The wing caps support an axis bar around which a spring is formed. The pin of the brooch is missing. The bow head is flat and angular compared to a hump-like bow head. The bow is absent from below the wings. At the apex of the bow head is a hook through which a length of the spring transverses from each wing cap.
