A copper-alloy jetton of Nuremberg of the ‘French Shield’ type dating from c. 1500-1525. The flan has been pierced at 5 o’clock on the obverse and there is also a crack in the flan at 1 o’clock. It is 29mm in diameter and 0.9mm thick. It weighs 3.25gm. For reference see Mitchiner, Vol. 1, No. 1069.

Reverse description: An imperial orb surmounted by a cross, within an ornamental tressure that has three arches. The legend is again fictitious.
