A medieval gold finger-ring, the outer surface decorated with an inscription in black letter, and between each word an engraved heart. The inscription is uncertain but may read 'tout mon desir' ('all my desire'). The background is cross-hatched. Traces of enamel survive in the lettering, in the hearts, and on the background. The ring is hollow and of D-shaped section, the outer hoop and the inner band of separate pieces.

Notes:

The find therefore qualifies as Treasure under the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996 in terms of both age and precious metal content.
