A complete copper-alloy pin probably of early-medieval date. The head is globular. It has a maximum length of 5.9mm and a height of 5.1mm. Due to its state of wear and corrosion it lacks any discernible decoration. Below the head is a double collar; the collar is a common characteristic of Middle Anglo-Saxon pins (Geake 2001, 39). The shaft is circular in cross-section and 1mm in diameter below the collar (the collars' diameters are 1.5mm). The shaft itself bends sharply out from the collar, and curves in to a rough 'C' shape, however it is unclear whether any of the bending is original or if it is later damage. The bottom third of the pin swells slightly (to 1.3mm), another characteristic of early medieval pins, before it narrows to a sharp point. The pin has corroded to a brown-red colour, with patches of a green patina. The collar, the swelling and the form of the head suggest a probable Middle Saxon date for this object (Geake 2001, 39-40).
