Roman copper alloy brooch of Langton Down type. Narrow body down which runs a single, low rib, expanding at the point where it meets the wings. These are formed of thin metal folded around to form a tube which contained the coiled spring. Across the face of the wings are a series of transverse lines. Catch plate now missing but was originally openwork.
