An incomplete copper-alloy bell shaped stud of Allason-Jones type 1 of Roman date. Only the head of the stud survives. It is roughly cylindrical in form. The upper surface is recessed and has, at its centre, a truncated conical projection with central depression. The top part of the outer side has decorative mouldings comprising a plain central band with a convex surface, flanked on either side by a groove and ridge. A deep groove separates this upper band of decoration from a second band, located at the base of the head. The lower band is narrower and has a central groove with a low ridge above and below. Protruding from the centre of the flat base is iron corrosion, presumably from the now-missing pin. The object is corroded. It measures 21.4mm long, 16.7mm in diameter and weighs 23.42g.
