BROOCH

Unique ID: WMID1810

Object type certainty: Probably
Workflow status: Published Find published

Only a fragment of the item remains. This item may have been an annular brooch. The interior edge is curved and may have been circular. The outer edge is shaped possibly forming a pentagon or hexagon shape. Only two 'edges' remains. On the upper surface there are two rectangular with rounded corners, high relief protrusions which are filled with a white paste. Covering the rest of the surface there are vertical rivets, whose heads can be seen on the reverse. These rivets are holding in place a series of sheet 'flower' shapes. The reverse is plain and flat. The rivet heads have been flattened so they are nearly flush with the surface.
