BROOCH

Unique ID: WMID1573

Object type certainty: Certain
Workflow status: Published Find published

The wings are semi-cylindrical with wing caps. The wing caps support the axis bar around which the spring is coiled. However the spring is corroded and distorted. The bow head is rectangular in section and is angled at 90° which then leads to the bow. At the top of the bow head there is a small hook. The bow gradually tapers, but is incomplete. Decoration on the bow consists of a vertical groove which is interrupted by a high-relief arrowhead. The reverse of the bow still has the remains of the upper portion of the catchplate. Traces of tinning.
