Later Upper Palaeolithic secondary flake (15,000-8,300 BC). The flake surface shows evidence cortex reforming giving an indication of the age of the flake, it is also patinated from light grey to white reflecting the deposition chalk downland. 95% of the dorsal surface (upper face) is covered in original cortex with evidence for one one previous flake removal. There are signs of platform preparation at the proximal end. On the ventral surface (lower face) the bulb of percussion and bulb scars can be seen. Weight: 82g, Length: 91.85mm, Width: 43.45mm, Thickness: 17.96mm. These flints form part of a large collection of lithic implements and associated waste flakes from several concentrations on the Seven Sisters; see SUSS-80DBC3.
