Unusual Medieval composite strap-end, tongue-shaped, double-notched attachment-end, rivet-hole containing a copper alloy rivet, transverse band of short vertical lines at mid-point, below which the tapering sides are chamfered with a further copper alloy rivet-hole above a narrowed projection from the full-width central spacer, ending in a terminal knop formed by riveted front and back plates. 15 x 31mm. 14th century.
This find has a close parallel, recently discovered in the nearby parish of Holme Hale (NMS-BF89AE)
