"Treasure Report: 2008 T727 Parish/County: 'Ryther', North Yorkshire
A Medieval finger-ring, much distorted, consisting of a simple wire hoop and a rectangular bezel. The stone with which the bezel was set is now lost. For a comparable example of the ring form see TAR 1998-99, No 107, page 55.
The finger-ring is gold and dates from the late twelfth or thirteenth century.
Dimensions: length 25 mm, width 10 mm.
Consequently, in terms of age and as the object contains a minimum of 10% precious metal it qualifies as Treasure under the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996.
