Incomplete Medieval sword scabbard chape, upper part, all of one side and most of one face missing. Rounded terminal lobe, triangular aperture in triangular projection on less damaged face. Closely paralleled by examples from London (LMMC fig. 88 no. 1) and Wellingore, Lincolnshire (PAS LIN-24B041). Height >35mm. Estimated minimum width 39mm. Internal thickness 7.5mm. 14th century.
