Medieval lead alloy spindle whorl, 33mm in diameter and 9mm thick. The whorl is in good condition with a grey patina and weighs 48.84grams. The whorl is circular in form and bi-conical on cross section. It has a central circular hole, 10mm in diameter. It is decorated on both sides with a pattern of raised open heart shapes, which contain a raised dot, these are separated by a raised line. The whorl fits Walton Rogers form c.
