A copper-alloy medieval harness pendant of unusual composite construction. The pendant is square, with a perforated suspension loop protruding from the centre of its upper surface. The back of the loop is flush with the integral back plate, while the upper part protrudes forwards. It curves back round in a shallow arc with a notch above the plate. Emerging from the centre of the upper surface of the lower plate is a separate fitting riveted in place consisting of four prongs bent round on themselves into a claw; two of the prongs are truncated and bent back slightly. They retain what appears to be a broken fragment of green glass. This setting is displayed within a separate upper cagework plate attached to the main plate by dome-headed rivets in the four corners. Within a square border is an openwork square grille, open in its centre and attached to the border at the corners and half way along each edge. The delicate cagework has been slightly squashed and a bar of it lost at one point. The border features its own internal and external border with raised dots between. Gilding survives all over the artefact, particularly though on the upper surface of the back plate and the upper surface of the cagework grille.
