A Medieval 15th century silver-gilt iconographic finger-ring, with a representation of a female saint, possibly St Barbara, on the hexagonal bezel. The shoulders are decorated with sprigs of foliage, in some of which green enamel survives. The back of the hoop is cabled. The gilding is worn.
Notes:
The find therefore qualifies as Treasure under the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996 in terms of both age and precious metal content and should go forward to inquest.
