Object type certainty: Certain
Workflow status: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation

A prehistoric flint end and side scraper. Length 33.2mm; width: 22.8mm; thickness: 8.2mm; mass: 7.2g. The scraper is formed on a dark gray, almost black coloured secondary flint flake, with approximately 10% cortex remaining on one edge of the ventral side. There is abrupt retouch on part of one mesial edge and the distal end of the ventral side. The dorsal side has gentle ripples of the concoidal fracture, with a series of scars at the proximal end. There is also a large scar on one side of the distal end. The scraper is likely to be prehistoric, probably dating from the mesolithic to the bronze age period (c. 8300 BC to c. 1500 BC).
