A large flint composite tool (knife/scraper). Bi-facially worked on a possibly natural flake of off-white flint with occasional grey-brown patches. It has a matt patina. Sub-oval in shape, the distal end has been flaked at to form a large scraper. On the other face of the flake there have been several invasive transverse flake removals to thin and shape the flake, perhaps to make a knife. There are no clear indicators that the original flake was struck, although this evidence may have been removed by the transverse flaking. A composite tool of uncertain function. There is some edge damage and much of one surface has been frost pitted. Date: possibly Late Neolithic, but more probably Early Bronze Age Dimensions: 75 mm x 52 mm x 17 mm Weight: 62 g
