Piece of silver; flat piece of silver, roughly square in plan, two sides cut, two sides original & uneven; surfaces uneven and pitted; the lower surface bears "stretch marks". The two cut edges have the same patina as the rest of the objects, and so were presumably cut in antiquity. Dark grey surface with some areas of light grey-green corrosion, presumably due to the presence of copper in the silver. Thickness uneven c.3mm-5.6mm

20/03/2017 - Barry Ager wrote in 2009 - The objects are undiagnostic in nature and as such cannot be securely dated to pre 1706, and therefore fall outside the provisions of the Treasure Act 1996.
