SCRAPER (TOOL)

Unique ID: NLM-CABB95

Object type certainty: Certain
Workflow status: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation

A complete Mesolithic to Neolithic core scraper. The single platform core has large flakes removed from all faces, except the face which is covered in cortex. The flint is a translucent light brown with a opaque grey/blue patina on the top of the core. This suggests that the core was reworked at a later date into a scraper. Flakes have been taken from the lower half of the core to create a scraper tool. The length is 43.0mm, the width is 42.7mm, the thickness is 19.5mm and the weight is 36.06g.
