A possible late Iron Age cast copper alloy vessel handle. It comprises a semi-circular attachment plate with a circular hole on each side for attachment to a vessel. There is a raised crescent-shaped collar from which projects a downward curving rod that bifurcates before ending in breaks. Both broken terminals would have originally joined back together to form a looped handle. cf NMS-865CC5, HAMP3380 and SOMDOR-8B7966 are similar examples. Date circa 300 BC-100 AD. A second find, reported some years after this discovery, is also part of a tankard; the proximity of the two finds suggests that they might be from the same object (see BERK-1184A6).
