Palm-sized flint hammerstone, with a flattened area showing evidence of battering or impact, being devoid of the stone's cortex that covers the remainder of the object. The stone core exposed at the possible hammer end is amber in colour.
Notes:
This hammerstone was found in association with a Neolithic handaxe (BERK-11D8D1) in Thames gravel layers.
