This is a post-medieval copper-alloy trade token farthing of a chandler from Barnet, Hertfordshire (Williamson (Hertfordshire) 28).
One side shows a stick of candles and the words IOHN (John) ROTHERHAM, the reverse has a star * IN.BARNAT 1655 around the outer edge and IR in the centre of the token

John Rotherham was a governor of the Queen Elizabeth School in the town of Barnet from 1651 to 1665
