Roman enamelled, copper alloy disc brooch, missing the pin, c. 2nd century AD. The brooch measures 21mm in diameter and weighs 4.4g. It contains six dots in the outer ring, which is completely filled with blue enamel. There is an inner central circle, measuring 6mm, however, this does not have any enamel present. There is a circular border measuring 2mm in width around the entire brooch. The reverse of the brooch is plain with the hinge for the pin and the catchplate present, however, the pin is missing. See Hattatt, 1989, pg 344, no.1029 and 1030.
