Multi faceted core which has been worked in several directions from opposing striking platforms to produce small blades or microliths of late Mesolithic date (6500-3500 BC).. The core is probably derived from a riverine pebble and a small area of outer cortex is present on one face. Two striking platforms are present from which blades have been removed, one of these has a series of hinge fractures associated with it and it is suggested that this may be the older face. It seems that the core has not been rejuvenated and instead blades have been taken in a separate direction. The core is a mid- grey brown colour with a slightly milky whit coloured patina. It measures 25.5mm length, 25.7mm width is 16.4mm thick and weighs 10.15 grams
