A copper-alloy lace tag, or 'chape', of probable 14th or 15th century AD date (see Egan and Pritchard, 1991, p. 284-5). The artefact has been made from a piece of sheet metal which has been rolled into an open-ended cone. A vertical seam is clearly visible on the back. The object is squashed and corroded but retains patches of a dark green patina. It measures 53.2mm long, 7.1mm wide and 6mm thick. The weight is 4.07g.
