A fragment of a copper-alloy Flat-section, or 'Ribbon-strip', bracelet, similar examples to which have been found in 4th century layers at Bancroft villa (see Williams and Zeepvat, 1994, p. 303-4). The piece represents one of the terminals of the bracelet. The end is angled slightly from the vertical and the sides are parallel. Extending from the point of the break is a central longitudinal groove with a repeating pattern of angled grooves bordering on each edge. A vertical band of three ridges and two grooves separates this design from that at the terminal, the latter of which comprises a punched ring-and-dot mark. The artefact has become flattend and is heavily corroded. It measures 29.4mm long, 7.9mm wide and 2.2mm thick. The weight is 1.99g.
