This ring of hollow construction has a flat interior and a rounded exterior with twisted wire borders. Analysis has shown it to be an unusual composition that does not conform to gold carat standards.
Notes:
This item was purchased by the 'finder' from a third party who claims it was found prior to 1997 in St Albans. Mr Orfeur has reported it as potential Treasure, however, since there is no evidence that it was buried with the intent of recovery (as would have to be the case under the Treasure Trove legislation in force prior to 1997), it does not qualify.
Subsequent action after recording: Returned to finder after being declared not Treasure
