A medieval lead bung from the mouth of a vessel. The object is very roughly circular in shape. It has a flat upper surface with an uneven outer edge. This forms a rim below which is a smaller, short cylindrical downwards projection which would have been formed when the seal was pressed into the mouth of the vessel to seal it. The seal remains intact. The metal is well preserved but with a mid whitish-grey oxidisation in places, particularly on the lower side.

Similar bungs can be seen in the Yorkshire Museum's medieval Collections.
