Post medieval button; cast copper alloy button of 17th century date. The button has a large, flat, circular head with a long, sturdy shaft extending from the centre of the back in the perpendicular plane to the button head. The shaft is of rectangular cross-section and is broken off before the end. It is pierced with a large, circular hole. The plate of the button is decorated on the front with an incised central dot surrounded by two incised concentric circles. Diameter (head) 23.07mm, thickness (head) 2.36mm, length (shaft) 13.32mm, width (shaft) 9.35mm, thickness (shaft) 4.87mm, diameter (piercing hole) 5.44mm, weight 9.10g.
