Post medieval thimble with elaborate stamped decoration below a spiral of tiny dots on the sides and crown. From the rim upwards: rib, ring of running foliar ornament, rib, ten busts in oval pelleted borders alternating with a pair of dots in lozenges, a slight rebate, a ring of repeating foliar ornament. Height 25mm. External diameter 17mm. Internal diameter 15.5mm. A Nuremberg or Dutch product of c.1550 - c.1620 ( cf. Margeson 1992, nos. 1462-5; Egan 2005, no. 643).
