This is an interesting piece of flint, found in the same vicinity of four other lithic tools. At first glance it might appear to be debitage or a waste core; however, it does have signs of further working beyond being a simple flake. There is a large piece of cortex remaining but it is difficult to be clear as to which is the proximal end. The ventral undulating surface is marked by two longitudinal fractures with associated conchoidal scars that may be the result of stress fracturing within the piece. The narrower end is broken off, leaving an end that may have been pointed at outset. The wider end has the appearance of a denticulate edge and may have been deliberately worked. The dorsal surface has ridges and the object seems to have at least two cutting or scraping edges. There are what appear to be fissures to those edges, perhaps from use or reworking. One of the cutting/scraping edges is slightly convex and the other, longer edge is concave. The convex edge has conchoidal fractures. Given the nature of the piece and the proximity of other Neolithic finds, it would be reasonable to consider this too, as Neolithic.
