A cast copper alloy mount, Post Medieval c18th century. Similar to NLM-6B88D1 and Read, History Beneath Our Feet, page 183 fig 1255 (note the description for 1255 does not appear to match the figure). The hollow cordate mount has two incomplete integral pointed lugs on the reverse. The cordate shaped head has an integral plate at its base. The plate has two perforations side by side above a round ended projection. Length 40.80 mm, width at top26.52mm, width at shoulder 9.37mm, plate width at perforations 14.42mm, plate width at base 5.73mm. Overall thickness 8.62mm. thickness of head 2.45mm, thickness of base 3.17mm. Perforation internal diameter 3.56mm. Weight 8.92g.
