Medieval copper alloy buckle, 19mm long, 15mm wide and 3mm thick. The buckle is in good condition with a grey/green patina and weighs 1.65grams. The buckle has a sub-rectangular frame, with one rounded end. It has an off set pin bar nearer to the rectangular end. The rounded end of the buckle has a semi-circular section the the curve is slightly off centre and contains a decorative protrusion which may be animal or human head? Two prominent ridges cross its surface and then a small ridge runs vertically below it. Below this is a semi-circular protrusion, which may be a mouth or chin. No pin or pin rest are present.
