Post Medieval? copper alloy casting waste, 144mm long, 113mm wide and 38mm thick. The object is in fair condition and weighs 1.180Kg. The object has glass fragments melted into its surface which would suggest that both materials have been burnt together at a high temperature, possibly in a furnace. The presence of the glass suggests it has a post medieval date.
Notes:
The object was found about 4ft underground by Miss Safia White and Master Liam Doyle during fencing work.
