Probably an incomplete cast copper alloy roman Polden hill type brooch. The short rectangular wings are misshaped underneath and the left wing is incompletely mangled. Behind the wings is hollow, but none of the pin mechanism survives. The thick tapering bow is circular in section and is twisted at the pointed foot terminal. Only a fragment of the catchplate survives. The length is 62.9mm, the width is 21.0mm, the thickness at the top of the bow is 9.7mm and the weight is 22.29g.
