Late Saxon copper alloy stirrup-strap mount, very worn and corroded, sub-triangular, corroded iron rivet in rivet-hole at springing of pointed broken apex, cast twin vertical ribs between curling tendrils, shaped sides and elongated knops projecting beyond base, iron rivet in rivet-hole through right-angled flange at base retaining fragment of corroded iron sheet on reverse. 27 x 44mm. Williams's (1997) Class A, Type 7 or 8. 11th century.
