Roman copper alloy brooch of Colchester derivative Polden Hill (flat wing ends, Lower Severn Valley and Avon), cf. Mackreth 2011, 2.b2. It is 40mm long, 23mm wide and 11mm thick. The brooch is in fair condition with a dark green patina and weighs 6.61grams. The brooch has semi circular wings, which are decorated with several incised vertical lines, but there is no spring or pin. The bow is semi-circular in section and has traces of a ridge running its length. It tapers gently and has the remains of a catchplate with a triangular hole.
