Post Medieval copper alloy ramrod holder from a firearm, probably a musket or rifle. The fitting would have been located on the underside of the forestock of firearm to hold the ramrod in when it wasn't being used. The object is cylindrical, formed of a rectangular sheet of metal bent to form a near complete cylinder. Each side of the sheet has a full length sub rectangular lug projecting up from the cylinder, each with a central perforation. These lugs were the point of attachment to the firearm. The outer face is decorated with four moulded collars and three ridges evenly spaced along the length of the object and running around its circumference to the lugs. There has been minor damage at both ends. Dates from between c1700 and c1850 AD.

Measures 30mm in length, 14mm width, diameter 9mm, wall thickness 1.4mm, and weight 4.34g.
