Fragment of copper alloy plate-headed brooch. Head and part of the bow only. There is a large oval plate at the head, behind this is a rectilinear recess in the head surrounded by a projecting rectilinear frame. This formed the housing for the axis bar and pin mechanism. The bow projects forwards at the lower front of the plate. It has a pointed oval section, curves downwards and tapers slightly. Above the break in the bow it is decorated with 3 semi-circular cross mouldings (the central larger than the two flanking it).
