Medieval silver penny of Richard I, class 3, probably minted by Roberd at Canterbury or Northampton, 1189-1194 AD, North 967. The coin has broken into at least 3 pieces, only two of which were retrieved. Although the missing bit makes up almost half the coin the break is rough and does not lie down the middle of the voided cross suggesting it was a break rather than a deliberate cut to make a halfpenny. It was photographed in the plastic packet
