Cast tinned copper alloy trapezoidal shoe or knee buckle with a drilled frame for a separate spindle, decorated with floral openwork in three apertures. The frame has concave, bifid sides, and a lobed knop over each spindle hole. The spindle, chape and pin are all missing.
Whitehead (1996) illustrates a similar example on page 99, No.623, which is dated to c.1660-1720.
