Oval enamelled plate brooch with a recess for a paste intaglio. Flat outer band framing a concentric band of enamel (traces of red remain). This in turn frames a concentric band of copper alloy around the recessed setting at the centre. The back is flat and undecorated. Here there is a hinge point for the missing pin and the remnants of a catchplate opposite on the long axis of the oval.
