Four sherds of hand-made south-western black-burnished pottery of probable first to third century AD date. Two sherds are rims from everted rimmed jars and the other two are body sherds. The fabric is reduced with mild oxidation on the internal surface and margins of one sherd. The largest sherd has a 'sandwich' effect with a lighter grey core and margins. All the sherds have a black slip on the external surface, and the largest sherd is also slipped internally. The fabric is tempered with moderate rounded quartz sand and sparse other gritty inclusions. Total weight: 36.3g
