Roman copper alloy brooch of Colchester derivative Polden Hill (flat wing ends type, West Midlands), cf. Mackreth 2011, 4.b. Plate 46. It is 33mm long, 26mmm wide and 16mm thick. The brooch is in fair condition with a green patina and weighs 12.04 grams. The brooch has semi-circular wings containing a spring of 12 coils and most of the pin. The wings are decorated with a vertical incised line near each end. The bow sits on top of a large circular protrusion and is circular in section. The brooch has snapped just below the start of the catchplate which tapers gently from the bow.
