Seal knop terminal from spoon. Hexagonal end engraved FF, below which is moulding with short, vertical engraved lines around edge, two smaller mouldings before hexagonal stem which has been split or had a short projection near the terminal. Traces of gilding. Bowl and most of stem missing. Date: 16th - 17th century. Dimensions: Diameter of head at max. 11mm, length (at least) 16mm. The age and precious metal content of this item therefore qualify it as treasure under the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996.

Retained by Customs at Harwich from a group of Dutch detectorists in September 2005.
