Roman silver contemporary copy of a denarius of Faustina I (deified). It is 17mm in diameter, weighs 2.76g and has some wear. Reverse: CONSECRATIO Mint: see Rome Date: after 141 Reference: RIC II, p.273 - Faustina II legend 5.

Notes:

DIVAE FAVSTINAE is not a standard legend for Faustina I, but is used in legend 5 for Faustina II (RIC II, p.273). However, the portrait is obviously Faustina I. I can only suggest that the forger produced it at a later date, after the coins of Fasutina II had been issued, thus leading to the use of the dative case. - Sam Moorhead
