Medieval lead alloy spindle whorl, 31mm in diameter and 14 mm thick. The whorl is in very good condition with a cream patina and weighs 49.37grams. The whorl is very finely cast and has a central void, 10mm in diameter. One side is decorated with raised lines arranged at angles, similar to runic script, whilst the other has a pattern formed of groups of raised dots seperated by raised straight lines.
