Post medieval polished bone handle containing remains of whittle tang of iron knife. The handle is of ovoid section and tapers towards the (missing) blade end. The terminal of the tang projects through a hole in the butt end and is secured by a patch of grey fixative. Both faces of the handle are decorated near the butt end with a pair of transverse grooves enclosing eight ring-and-dots. 16th century.
