A late Medieval finger-ring fragment, consisting of part of a flattened hoop, to which is soldered a bezel in the form of a heart with scrolls or flowers resembling fleurs-de-lys. Above the heart appear the remains of a crown.
The ring fragment is silver-gilt, and dates from the late fifteenth or early sixteenth century, and as such it qualifies as Treasure under the terms of the Treasure Act 1996.
Dimensions: length 17.6mm, height 12.2mm.
